Ethiopia

Famed for its coffee and rumored to be the legendary home of the Queen of Sheba and the lost Ark of the Covenant, Ethiopia is an undiscovered gem with nine Unesco World Heritage Sites. It is a destination for the willing and curious traveller, interested in anthropology and history. Addis Ababa lies in the centre of the country from where to explore either North or South.

In the north, visit the ancient obelisks of Axum, the rock-hewn churces of Lalibela and the Fasil Ghebbi fortress in Gonder, marvel at the beauty of the Simien Mountains, the surreal landscapes of the Danakil Depression and the impressive Blue Niles Falls.

Choosing a southern itinerary, you will spend much time in the lush Omo Valley, an incredibly diverse region home to many different ethnic groups, each with their own traditions and customs; from the Mursi, renowned for their lip-plates, the Konso, famous for their terraced farming, to the Hamer, famous for their bull-jumping coming of age ceremony. In the Bale Mountains you will find the Bale Monkeys and the Ethiopian Wolves.
